I derive inspiration from so many subjects in nature but I am especially drawn to flowers, plants, trees, rocks and landscapes. I enjoy the juxtaposition of textures, colors and shapes found in these subjects--rough vs. soft, light vs. dark, round vs. square, etc. Additionally, I like to reveal unique angles in ordinary objects, created by the interplay of light and shadows, sometimes to the point of abstraction. These qualities hold true to my travel photography, as well, where I also like to envision myself as a travel documentary producer. Finally, when creating images, I feel a deep spiritual connection to my subjects that I hope will, in turn, inspire you as the viewer.

Shannon Chester Photography
I am a Fine Art photographer and have been photographing and exhibiting in the Washington DC metro area for five years. I use my images to explore the human condition in relation to my own life's experiences. My images are conceptual and range from the straightforward to the situational.
I am branching out from strictly straight film photography to mixed media, and digital pieces. My website is my online gallery for both my photography and mixed media art work.
