About Us
What is good design? First, it begins with a well-thought-out plan. You don't want something that will only last for a year or two...or in other words, " disposable design". This is not cost-effective nor good for the environment. Second, recognizing and respecting the existing architecture is very important. In other words, the initial parts of any room; such as doors, floors and walls, openings to other rooms, hardware, ceiling and mouldings, and finally its fireplace, if present are the blueprint from which to begin.
Some details can be successfully added or modified, depending on any limitations of space, health/safety issues, local/national code restrictions, any standing property policies, (rental apartments and condominiums, or historic structures) and what, and how you wish to invest in yourself.
Above all, demand high-quality and restraint. We do, because creating your space is the second largest investment you will make, wherever you live. We also like to work with responsibility to the environment, and will explore sustainable options first.
Finally, your space should have its own life before you step into it. Do you prefer a formal or relaxed environment? Are there children present? Do you entertain, and if so; how often? What treasures do you have to incorporate? Are you living there for the short-term or the long-term? Answers to these questions are important so that we may provide the appropriate solutions through our services. Remember, functional and well-designed interior environments constantly evolve as people do; they are never really "done".
